Council approved the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Municipality of North Grenville and the Kemptville Campus. The MOU sets out the expectations of the Municipality and the Campus Board in relation to matters such as governance, administration, financial responsibility, maintenance, and strategic goals and deliverables. This past year, local residents may have witnessed considerable activity in the forests at Kemptville Campus. Activities have included trail improvements, thinning in the sugar bush, new sap pipelines, equipment upgrades in the evaporator house, unveiling of the Peter Wensink Maple Forest, the Fall in Love with Maple event and most importantly the community use of the forest. Two new members have been added to the Board of Directors for Kemptville Campus recently, bringing the total to nine Board members. Earlier in the year, six Board members were selected, as well as Campus Board Chair, Karen Cooper. The two newest members are Graham Pincott and Annie Hillis. Tree Removal On Campus
In partnership with the Municipality of North Grenville, Kemptville Campus has hired a professional tree care and consulting company to prune and remove select trees on Campus. Many diseased trees identified by the Campus Forester are being removed, as they have been affected by the invasive disease Emerald Ash Borer (EAB); others as they are damaged, nearing the end of their life cycle or pose a health and safety concern. On Wednesday, October 7, 2020, the North Grenville COVID-19 Assessment Centre (NGCAC) in Kemptville will be transitioning to a full assessment and treatment centre while also changing its hours to 9:00 am to 5:00 pm for added convenience. As a full assessment and treatment centre, the NGCAC will provide assessment by a physician, testing, and treatment for respiratory illness, if required. Patients will be able to access the centre on their own if they meet provincial eligibility requirements, and can also be directed there by their family doctor’s office. A crowd of close to 100 people turned out on Monday evening this week to participate in the Kemptville Campus Master Plan Open House. The attendees included residents, business people, Campus tenants and concerned citizens, including alumni and former instructors at Kemptville College. Group to Host Open House at Campus Greenhouse
A group of local volunteers will be hosting an Open House at the Kemptville Campus greenhouses Saturday, January 25, from 10am – 2pm. The Greenhouses are located at 75 Campus Drive, in the AJ Logsdail Centre. The public is welcome.

Campus Celebrates Forest Certification
The Kemptville Campus Education and Community Centre is pleased to announce that the Campus forests have achieved Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) Certification through the Eastern Ontario Model Forest’s Forest Certification Program. The announcement was made Friday at the Campus Agroforestry Centre on Bedell Road.

Kemptville Campus Open House Sat., Sept. 28
Plans for the Open House at Kemptville Campus are in the final stages. The event is a celebration of 100 Years of Education at the Campus and is happening Saturday, September 28, from 10am – 3pm. Opening ceremonies will take place at 11:30 in front of Purvis Hall. The event is open to the public and will include historical displays, artifacts and photos, open houses at each of the schools, live re-enactments by former College staff, and a free BBQ lunch and anniversary cake. Dignitaries invited include oldest grads and teachers of the College, representatives of the three school boards…

Kemptville College Photos Provided to Alumni
The collection of historic artifacts and photos that were stored at the Kemptville Campus have been shared between the Kemptville College Alumni Association and the Kemptville Campus. Ongoing discussions between Mayor Nancy Peckford, Deputy Mayor Jim McManaman, and Alumni representatives led to an agreement of which material would stay on the Campus for historical purposes, and which materials would be transferred to the Alumni.

Plus de 100 ans d'éducation au campus de Kemptville
Une célébration des 100 ans d'éducation sur le campus de Kemptville est prévue pour le samedi 28 septembre 2019 sur le terrain du campus de Kemptville. Organisées par le campus de Kemptville en partenariat avec la municipalité de North Grenville, les festivités comprendront des démonstrations sur place par des enseignants / étudiants des commissions scolaires du campus, des expositions historiques d'artefacts et de photos, des visites d'édifices éducatifs, des discours commémoratifs et des coupures de ruban par des dignitaires et, bien sûr, un gâteau d’anniversaire pour fêter 100 ans.

100+ Years of Education at Kemptville Campus
A celebration of 100 Years of Education at Kemptville Campus is being planned for Saturday, September 28, 2019, on the grounds of Kemptville Campus. Hosted by Kemptville Campus in partnership with the Municipality of North Grenville, festivities will include on-site demonstrations by teachers/students from the school boards on Campus, historical displays of artifacts and photos, tours of educational buildings, commemorative speeches and ribbon cutting by dignitaries, and – of course – a birthday cake to celebrate 100 years.

Une réunion publique et un forum de discussion auront lieu sur le Campus de Kemptville le 27 mai de 18h30 à 20h30, au W.B. George Centre. Public Meeting & Discussion Forum to be Held at Kemptville Campus
There will be a Public Meeting & Discussion Forum at Kemptville Campus on May 27, 6:30 – 8:30PM, at the W.B. George Centre. This is an opportunity for members of the public to learn how the Municipality of North Grenville is guiding current and future activity at the Campus since the municipality acquired 626 acres of the old Kemptville College in April 2018.
